Default Disco 2 Brush Guard on Disco 1

Just to ensure I'm not missing something; experts please confirm that this D2 brush guard I acquired WILL NOT fit on my D1.

Bolt holes for the brush guard are parallel with the deck and my D1 bumper bolt holes are perpendicular...

Thanks

It will fit. This was my D1. I pulled that exact guard off a D2 at a junk yard.

I just measured the mounting tabs on the brush guard; inside to inside they are 26.5 inches whereas inside to inside on my frame measures 24.5....

Also same issue as mentioned previously, the two bolt holes in the tabs are parallel with the ground and the frame bolt holes are up and down.

Guess it's no surprise that Land Rover changed the design that drastically between the Disco 1 & 2.

It really wasn't a drastic change in that respect. Are you sure that guard is from a D2? I have personally used D1 and RRC and D2 bumpers/guards with zero modification. This is the same truck with a winch bumper I personally removed off a D2.

I also test fit a D2 bumper on my RRC. It fit perfect. They all interchange. Some may fit better than others on the body lines. But they all mount the same.

It seems that I'll need these brackets.
