well went and looked at 3 LR's today the two DI's where large pieces of s#@T but the third was the nicest dII I've seen!!!!!! I's a 03 SE7 with 90,000 that look to have been babied!! not to mention it's one that was repo'd and by the looks of it the Previous Owner took very good care of it, does not even look like the back seats have ever been sat in (by back i mean rear not third row) Test drove it and it drove and rode like brand new.

No diff lock for that year, I believe. Otherwise, good find. How much are they asking? You'll still want to do a major tune up, these trucks appreciate routine maintenance...

I've never seen 93 octane out here, so I use 91. Not saying I disagree, but premium does vary from state to state and city to city. The previous owner used 85 octane , which is part of why it ran so poorly when I first bought it.

Make sure the TSB on the Oil Pump has been completed. (The "fix" for the bad oil pump is FULL engine replacement - I **** you not)

I have seen a TON of '03 owners who are PISSED because it destroys the components of the Oil Pump that can't be refurbished - you have to replace - and you have to take the engine out to do it.

Mountain Goat - You are correct - realistically I was simply pointing out that you need to use the Premium Fuel, minimum 91 - here it is 93, and also is running about $3.52 per gallon. Even getting really amazing MPG (I average 16.5 in my '96 Disco I! Well, I do now...I started at 8!) it still runs me between $75 and $100 just to keep the Beast happy and moving. <-- Trust me - if you don't have any gas in the tank - it does not matter HOW many fuel pumps you install - it STILL won't start. WEIRD!

I feel a bit better, I've been getting Premium for about $3.10. If I'm in the next town over, I can get it for under $3. However, prices are still high enough to motivate me to keep the truck tuned up. It was getting 8 MPG when I bought it, I've gotten it up to 14 the last few tanks, and it sounds like there's still room for improvement. Granted I am running tires that are a bit wider than necessary, I'll probably change from 265s to 215s soon. Oh yeah, and I fill up every 150 miles just so I always have plenty of gas in the tank, but only when I happen to be driving by the right gas station. Never make special trips for fuel if you can avoid it, it's bad economics.
