Also a few other things I forgot to mention in previous posts. I also scored an aluminum wheel from the donor car for my spare, pictured above, to replace my old steel wheel, which was awesome to reduce some weight on the back end. I also made some small 1/4" spacers from aluminum for the spare tire to keep it from pressing so hard on the door. $5 and 10 min of work and fits perfect.

I also wanted to mention another issue I noticed with the lift that I havent seen mentioned before. At full droop of the front suspension, the sway bar heavily contacts the front driveshaft. This can be a serious problem if not corrected, so I made an extension spacer that moves the sway bar down 1" and backwards 2", allowing it to clear no problem. I think once I am done the car I am going to do a write up on clearing 265/75r16s on a D1 because most of the forums I read about it dont mention many of the issues I have noticed, possibly just because they havent tested things as much or just didnt notice, but either way I think it would help those looking to make the switch a lot more prepared for what is involved.

Here is the finished bumper, as well as my roof rack mod. I made some aluminum bars to bridge the stock rails so I could mount my fuel cans, I think it turned out pretty good.

Long delay between posts but I will sort of do a wrap up with where it sits now. I plan on doing a walk around video and will post the link here once its done for anyone interested!

Last time I posted I had just finished up the bumper, I did a ton of other work on it. Paint work on the sides, hood, and roof. Did a custom roof light rack with switch panel inside that replaced the ash tray, looks almost factory. Fixed a bunch of other things that broke. I am currently also working on a bottom skid plate for the T case and parking brake, I will post pics of that as well. Hoping to get some real use out of it soon, but COVID is making it tough to travel. Here are the pics!

And the rig as she sits

If anyone has specific questions or comments about my truck, feel free to post here and I will try to answer them. This forum has been super helpful to me so I will do my best to help others with what I have learned.

Hey everyone, rather than writing the rest of this doc (I dont have spare time anymore), I decided to do a walkaround and discuss the most exciting parts of the build in a video on my youtube channel. I will post the link below, but in case something changes and the link gets broken in the future, my channel can be searched using the filter on youtube for channels only and searching "WeekendWarriors". Thanks everyone for following along and all the help this forum has provided for me!
