If the rubber brake lines at the wheels are bad they will balloon as soon as you press the brake pedal and you will loose stopping power.
Thanks

Actually, Land Rovers have had roller tappets at least since the 50's, petrol and diesel. I think they've had them since '48.
It wasn't until they went with the V8 that they went to flat tappets. Sort of a step back. LOL

You might have a brake line leak? Mine was perfectly fine for awhile then I had to push farther down and finally it just touched the floor so I bled the brakes. Worked fine for about a day then went back, check for caliper leaks or line leaks?

The guy I bought it from (a mechanic) said the brakes have been that way since he got the truck, even after he bled them. He didn't mention anything about them fading over time. It has new rotors and pads, so it must be something in the brake lines. Maybe they weren't bled properly?

You would think that a mechanic knows how to bleed brakes properly, but hey, you never know.

Kendall GT1 and Valvoline VR1 racing oils are the only HIGH level ZDDP content oils out there. VR1 is the highest level at almost 20% ZDDP content to GT1 18%.

VR1 comes in 10w30 for cold weather and 20w50 for warm weather driving...can be found at any auto store

The new Rotella T or any other CJ4 rated disel oil has almost ZERO ZDDP just fyi to meet the new CJ4 certification..you have to find CI-4 rated HDEO to find any ZDDP.

However, if you do not want to run GT1 or VR1 racing oils than FOR SURE get HDEO because they are far far far better than car rated oils

I've had GT1 for about a week and a half in my Rover and the engine LOVES IT...it idles much much smoother

Mobil 1 Extended oil's used to have the highest ZDDP out there, they had so much zinc that everywhere there was a oil leak on my engine it looked like graphite was rubbed on it.

Used that oil in my wifes Volvo turbo wagon and it clogged the PCV system, which was $300 to replace.
But Mobil discontinued those oils.
I like Rotella because I can get it anywhere and it is cheap.
I use it in all my cars and change it every 5,000 miles and dont worry about it.

Dose anyone remember the Mobil one commercial that they had a land rover in it? It was on in the early 2000s. Maybe it was shell?
