Do you remember the magic when you first saw a land rover?
Or maybe it was never there for you?
I have been thinking alot about this lately, how the first time I noticed a land rover the magic involved.
For me I was just carpooling with one of the goofiest 45 year old guys ever. At the time i had a 2007 Nissan Frontier 4wd. I remember getting in it and there was just mystery about it. I loved how everthing was different EVERYTHING. I loved all the little beeps and chirps the electronics made. There really was just something magical about it, the more and more I looked into them [and realized they were actually affordable] the more I fell in love. Something I still to this day cannot put my finger on.
I guess its kinda like the girl you see in juniorhigh and its love at first sight, all you see is the positives and you believe she is so much better than you and your unworthy but the whole time you dont realize shes a fat pimpled face nerd who picks her nose and eats her buggers.
Now that I know my truck inside and out it, I sometimes forget how different and legendary they are. Even though others will disagree with me I still feel the same about the defender [never saw one up close] and the LR3.
Or am I the only one?

1967 or so. My friend, who's dad was a doctor, had it in his driveway. Thinking back, it must have been a Series IIa 109, it just shouted out "ADVENTURE", and of course I saw them every week on Wild Kingdom. It took me 44 years to get my own.
I am from Europe...and Land rovers have always been the standard for 4x4 that everyone tried to copy but have failed....it has always been my dream to own a Land Rover
Honestly, they are great rides that are super easy to work on really.
There is just an awesome feeling when you go off road...your surrounded by Jeeps/Yota's and your Disco w/ no lockers, or big suspension just moves with elegant steady movements

The first Land Rover I ever remember was when I was in New Zealand. It was on a farm just outside of Dargaville. Was camping there and say the beautiful series(not sure which) coming over a muddy field
. It looked like more fun than being locked in the playboy mansion for a year with only yourself and all the playboy bunnies
...(sorry, but that was the closest description I could think of
)
I had always wanted one ever since.

I agreed with all these posts EXCEPT this one...........really, you'd opt for a rover over spending a year alone in the Playboy mansion with just the Playboy models and you..............Officially calling BS or your.............not straight would be appropriate. LOL
A few years back however....it was a completely different story
But driving off the beaten path is one of the few pleasures I get that keep me sane. My wife doesn't understand it, but she humors me and doesn't stop me(unless I try to take the mortgage money...)
