Dome Courtesy Switch
I could not find the wire through the hole so I took a peak at the harness under the pillar. I found a Purple/ Green wire in the pillar, which in an old thread stated that was the correct wire, but when I made a jumper from ground it did not activate the dome lights. I read somewhere that it may be a purple/white wire. I found that wire, grounded with tester and hazzaa! Dome lights activated. However the audible headlight/key in ignition warning did not chime. It has in the past which leads me to think that I have the wrong wire. Do any of you know if that wire goes up the pillar or does it go from the switch to the innards of the dash? And can any of you confirm that it is indeed a Purple/Green wire? Looking at the green bible it shows it going straight to the MFU. I'm at a loss and tired of accidentally leaving my headlamps on.
For any who are curious I found the culprit wire under the dash behind the MUF just chillin. It is purple/green with a loose black sheathing. Soldered an extension and ran it up from the footwell. All is good no more dead battery from forgetting to turn the headlights off.
Mine has the wire off the drivers door pin switch and it is not long enough to pull through the hole and repair guess some day I will figure how it gets from there to under the dash and fix it
yup....that wire IS a bitch......broke mine 2x.......its considderably longer now lol !
I pulled the black plastic panel off its directly under the dash. Then you have to activate your inner gymnastics skills to peak behind the fuse block. You should find a loose wire. That's the dome switch wire. There is enough slack in the wire to pull it out to solder an extension then remove the kick panel on the left there is a hole that runs up to the switch. Leave extra slack in the pillar because from my understanding is the original wire came in from the top so the extra slack reduces the stress on the spade. I'll take some pics in the morning
for mine I used a stiff piece of wireand made a hook to catch it with.....then used some forceps to grab and pull what i could out to
