Default interior courtesy light problem

When I shut off the vehicle sometimes the courtesy lights stay on after locking the doors. Generally will go out after 15 minutes or so. Sometimes they simply don't work at all. Is there a simple fix for this?

thanks....

Check to make sure that your dome switch is in the "door" position. That means that the dome lights will come on when the doors are opened and not stay on all the time.
The switch has 3 positons, OFF-DOOR-ON.
These trucks have a dome timer, if you leave a door ajar it will turn off the dome light after so many minutes so as to not drain the battery.
Next check for a loose bulb in the dome lights. My Camry dome light comes loose all the time and I have to pull the cover and re-seat the bulb.
After that check the switch at the door. You know that little button in your fridge that turns the light on and off? Your trk has one on each door. They go bad.
But check the simple stuff first.

Unscrew the phillips screw above the switch. Pull the assembly out, taking caution not to let the wire come unplugged and fall back into the panel (pain in the butt to get back out). Plug the wire into the new switch and mount back in place...
