Default Door swap help

As I mentioned in my power seat post I just got a 98 disco parts rig. I want to swap the doors but I want to gain some insight on how to disconnect the door electrics, take off the door, and then reinstall it. Thanks!

I outlined the hinges in your power seat post.

You will have to disconnect the plugs for the window motor and the power door locks. These are zip tied to the door frame at various junctures. Then you have to disconnect the rubber wire harness boot from the door to the body and feed the connectors through.

Yes, use a panel removing tool something that has a fork head to pull out each of the pins. Then cut away the plastic vapor barrier and you have access to all the connections.

Sorry you have to remove the handles, remove the doorhandle backing plate and also remove the speaker grill.

Ok, and I don't have a panel removal tool. What's the best MacGyver one?

Small plastic putty knife cut a notch for the door panel pin and use a hammer handle as a fulcrum for the lever

Or go to Harbor freight and buy a plastic set for under five dollars. The metal ones are around 10.
