Default doors not opening

I am sure this has been talked about prior but, I am unable to open my doors in my Disco 1, front doors only from the inside. This morning I got the nice suprise of the key freely spinning in the door lock. Is this something I can fix or does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Santa Clarita/ San Fernando Valley (Ca.) that is reasonable to fix this problem. The door issue had been there prior and I had someone "fix," but, looks like this was just a temporary adjustment. Any help or pointers will be greatly appreciated. I am looking to fix the issue permanently. Thanks,

Open up the door panel and have a look... Likely it's just some clips that have come apart or possibly broken...

There are a variety of plastic parts that can and will break in conjunction with the door key. Likely that is what has happened. I was able to get one from a guy parting one out. I was lucky because most people wouldn't seperate that piece from te entire door mech (which I did not need). They are also door specific so you will need the part from a driver's side door.

Re the doors opening there is an adjustment that can be made to the rods once you remove the door cards. It's really not that difficult. I had the same problem and was able to adjust all mine back to working condition. Good luck!
