Exclamation DTC Codes....

Good Afternoon:

I have a 1998 Land Rover D1 LSE 4.0L vin#SALJY1243WA780252 and 119,000 miles.

I have had the vehicle for over 2 years and truly enjoy it. That being said, it is starting to exhibit systems that I need your assistance/opinions on...

Here are the codes stored in the ECM:

P1187
P1193
P0158
P1178
P1193
P1187
P1178

These are listed in the order they appear in my scan tool (some are repeat codes???).

Here is the freeze frame data, which is the same for all of the codes listed above:

Fuel Sys 1 CL
Fuel Sys 2 CL
Calc Load (%) 26.6
ECT (deg F) 199
STFT B1 (%) 6.2
LTFT B1 (%) -3.9
STFT B2 (%) 24.2
LTFT B2 (%) -3.9
Eng RPM 737
Veh Sp (MPH) 0

I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, Spark plugs with bosch platinum +4, Magnacore wires, FTS, ECU temp sensor, TPS, IAC motor, all 4 HO2 sensors, Battery, exhaust system (muffler and tail pipe), waterpump, all coolant hoses, serp belt, all filters, fluids, cleaned the throttle body (aka the 60K service), VSS, Crank Sensor.

These repairs have happened over the last year and a half, or so...the codes just recently started showing up (last 2 weeks, or so).

Battery voltage: 12.76 static & 14.08 running @ 3K rpm

The vehicle still gets 13.7 mpg and starts/runs fine (someties the rpm seems to surge/hunt) and might cycle between 600-900 rpm (intermittently) no particular pattern?

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!!!

First start by clearing those codes, some are pretty old and send us the new ones that come back.
Are you having any hot start issues?

Thanks Mike...been following you for a couple of years on this forum and I was hoping you would chime in. With respect to the items you mentioned, I will clear the codes and see what happens...

Hard starting issues when hot, at temps above 90 degrees F, there are times when it seems like it vapor locks for lack of a better word...it will start run rough, sputter, and hick-up for a few minutes until the air bubbles have purged, or until whatever has heat soaked has cooled down a bit...then it runs smooth. If I leave it running when I go in someplace, everything is fine, but if I shut it off for 20-50 minutes or so then the symptoms occur???

Will do on the codes and keep you posted...thanks again, sir!!!

Mike, per your request, here is the update...

I cleared the DTC's, cleaned the battery cables, and checked to see that everything cleared.

I started the vehicle warm-up and let the idle settle down. I then drove it about 6 miles to let the shift points reset and the adaptive learning profile begin to develop. It did set 3 codes:

P1193 HO2S Heater Circuit Inferred Open - Downstream Sensors
P1187 HO2S Heater Short Circuit - Upstream Sensors
P1178 AMFR Correction At Maximum Positive Value

No Freeze Frame Data is available.

The "yellow" light is on regarding the emission status

CAT, EVA, O2S, HTR lights are blinking on the Innova 3110 scan tool.

Thoughts?
