Default Dumbass new guy question

How does one tell what year LR they have? I can’t find stickers anywhere on mine. I mainly concerned so I can get the correct part numbers. Also are there Land Rover part houses like Victoria British for MG and Triumph ?

Welcome to the forum.

Still have a MG?

For new parts I generally hit up Lucky8. Used parts I hit up Paul Grant, Will Tillery and Abran for the newer stuff.

Running the vin should tell you the year. If it has a distributor under the hood it’s a 94/95. No distributor than its 96-99

first glance I would guess a D1, the D2 has the tail lights higher up. Take a good look at the swivel ***** on the front axle. they tend to leak oil and when they run dry, you mess up the pivot bearings.

The antenna placement, door trim width, and tail lamps are the only external clues to the year Im aware of.

Inside you can tell by looking at seats mounts, rear arm rest, drivers visor, headliner trim and a pillar trim.

thats a 97 or later.

you could also look at the epa compliance year tag under the hood

VIN decoder.... no guessing involved.

https://landroverforums.com/forum/vindecoder.php

good suppliers of new parts include...
roverparts.com - British Atlantic - Eric Riston has been super helpful
roversnorth.com - Rovers North
https://rovahfarm.com/ - Rovah Farm - Trevor is great.
https://www.lucky8llc.com/ - Lucky 8
LRdirect.com - UK based part supplier. Sometimes cheaper than the U.S. houses.
