Default Electric fan - Temperature switch location

I have 1997 D1 with 4.0 GEMS engine. Electric fan wont spin up at 212 deg. tested fan, and relay - good. Looks like the temp sensor switch is fubar.
Can't locate the bloody switch on the engine (x113 in Rave electrical manual) - 2 temp switches on intake manifold for gauge and ECU - poking me in the eye
but oh no not the x113. Rave shows location for every model but the 4.0 GEMS engine.
This is a NAS vehicle

Anyone know where it is hiding?

If the 97 is like the 98 (and I could be wrong) I'm pretty sure its triggered by the ECU. If I remember correctly it will come on above 225ish.....

I read something to that effect but it seemed too sil)y even for LR I bought a toggle switch today

Not wanting to watch truck sacrifice itself to spare a 100 dollar fan

If your A/C doesn't work just unplug the compressor and use what you have on the dash. Otherwise just interrupt the compressor with your toggle for the times you don't need A/C.

You can always ground the G/W wire to turn on the condenser fan relay that will supply power to the fans while the engine is running.

Thank you Icannap1 for your detailed reply. I will add a switch to the 'GW' to ground and leave ECU connected - that way, if the AC is turned on (though it hasn't worked in 10 years) The fan would engage.

Just came across this post and for the sake of understanding all I need to do to get the Electric fans running is to connect the Green and White wire to a ground that is connected to a toggle switch?

Yes all you need to do is ground the GW (Green/White) wire with a toggle switch just make sure to not forget to turn it off once you turn off your car otherwise it will just continue to run and drain your battery.

Thanks for the reply Icannap1!
Is this white and green wire located under the dash or actually on the electric fans?

Thanks!

The wire comes off the fan relay, right inside the cabin.
