I had the same symptoms and decided to try this out as I had never cleaned the IACV. Interestingly enough I have a Middle East spec Discovery and my IACV was on the left side of the plenum far back. I only mention this because the RAVE manual had me looking on the right side near the Intake...

Anyhow, cleaned it out with a ton of carb/choke cleaner and so far it's idling very smoothly which is something I had been wrestling with for a couple of months.
