Engine ECU
Can someone lead me in the correct direction for the Engine ECU, its location (preferably by picture) and specific directions as to where it is at along with what I need to remove to get to it. It would be appreciated #pullinghairout

I found and the outside of the case if corroded but the inside contacted look normal or fine. How can I tell if it is broke or not working properly?
I found one on ebay for $200 part number MKC104420 Gem8.
Does that sound like a fair price?

It is on the passenger side under the hood under the windshield wiper cowl. There is a black cover next to the emissions box. There are 2 screws on the inside of the fender mount and 2 plastic pins on the bottom. Mine was severely corroded on the outside the inside did not look to bad.
Occasion stalling, poor idle response, poor engine response in general. Started during a damp day while raining where it would not start. Intermittent not working of wipers, windows, sun roofs, etc. Now it is not starting period. In other posts it was suggested to look at it, and I have a massive rotted section of the inner fender well right where the ECU mounts. Likely could be a cause
Do you have any suggestions about what it could be, or what symptoms would I notice if the ECU was bad?

I'm sorry I do not, I'm new to rovers. I'm having a high idle issue that I think an ecu reset will resolve. I'm sure a few members who know their stuff will chime in, these electrical gremlins are a PITA. Good luck.
