Engine management fuse keeps blowing under acceleration
Someone once told me owning a land rover is a labor of love. I think I'm starting to understand what he meant...
This is for a 1996 Discovery 1 with a 4.6 v8. Latest issue is the engine management fuse keeps blowing (Satellite C, #3 20A Engine management). Every time it blew, I was under heavy throttle. Driving with light throttle is fine but if I give it the beans, it'll likely blow the fuse. Gas/braking at a stop blows it instantly.
This leads me to believe that engine torque is causing something. The engine mounts are a bit worn and its on my todo list but I don't think the engine rotating enough to pull on any harnesses. Its also been raining and leaks a bit into the front foot wells.
I inspected the engine bay and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Swapped ECUs and that didn't fix it. Any pointers on where to look?

Took a look underneath and found that one of the transmission mounts were completely shot. It was so bad that it delaminated into two pieces. I swapped in a new mount and the engine resting position shifted enough that the fan was contacting the shroud upon startup. It’s drove fine on a test drive but we’ll see how long it lasts. Im finding it hard to believe that a worn transmission mount will blow my ecu fuse.
Check that your passenger side O2 sensor wires have not rubbed through on the underside and are (were) making contact with the starter heat shield due to the bad mount. For what it's worth, it isn't an issue until the vehicle warms up and goes open loop. I had that shield come loose and cause just this issue. Really frustrating in the middle of the desert. Hope this helps.
