how can i test the coils or wires:S? is there a way?

Sure, there's a way to test anything.
I do not know how to test plug wires or coils.
When was the last time the truck had new plugs and wires?
Sounds like you just got this truck from its 2 yrs in storage and you know nothing of its history.
I would start from scratch, plugs and wires, clean the throttle body and idle air control and make sure the air filter is good.
You have a '96 so no distributor.
The coils on these trucks tend to last a long time.
However mice could have gotten in and eaten through wires.
