Default Engine swap to a chevy sb

Hey guys I was watching some Rover's on YouTube, and I saw some that had placed a 350 in the engine. In some threads I have read about some GM parts fitting the rovers engine and thought I might not be a bad idea. I was wondering what everyone else thought about it? Something to talk about. Don't get me wrong I love my Rover and she treats me good.

A 283 SB would be fun in there. But not as much fun as a TDI...too bad the TDI is so much.

Wow it's alot cheaper than I had expected. I also agree about the TDI, would be alot of fun.

I had a 1967 Chevy Sport Van90 with a power pack factory hot rod 283 in it. It was absolutely awesome power curve.

Why does everyone think a Chevy engine is so the way to go?
My Olds with the 3.1 was absolute junk.

Cause it wasn't a 283...
Cheap engines, parts and stuff I guess is why everyone wants a SBC

I agree with Chris-bob. It's a cheaper alternative. And more power possibilities.

I had a Cutlass with a 350 that would blow the doors off a lot of cars. A Bronco with a 351 that was an absolute beast, a 64 Lemans with an aluminum 326 that was also incredible. But if you throwing a badass american engine in there, you'll be doing a whole new drivetrain to take the strain as well.

I think a Chevy powerplant swap would have perks for available parts and better power, but I don't think a iron V8 is the answer at all. I would think more people would be looking at an all aluminum 4.3 or even the newer all aluminum LS style engines in either a 5.3"327 or 5.7"347". I am all about hybrid build with engines they shouldn't have but swapping out a lazy 3.9 for a 750lb v8 not the best answer in my opinion
