Ditto. And an even bigger problem, which has been stated before, is when parts start breaking because you put a 3-500hp SBC under the hood. That, along with the fact that most people cannot handle an engine that powerful. They would just get themselves in trouble, and an accident. Then, if you put a plain-jane stock SBC in, you wouldn't have the power necessary to move that body with the added engine weight. I would find it to be a great project to undertake for a trail rig, or a rig with a dead engine...but I couldn't do it to an engine that ran just fine.

Reading more into it, kinda sounds like more work than really needed. I guess if I REALLY was set on a Chevy engine I think I would modify a Jeep or an American made vehicle. I have never had to really step on the gas to get more power when wheeling, and that's the only time I would need more power. Is there a possible modification to place a super-charger under the hood? There's definitely enough room.

I would like to see a mildly built 4.3 in one of these trucks, plenty of HP and torque but nothing overkill. It would be light enough that it probably would be close to the same weight as the rover motor.
