Experience w/Disco I w/ 245/75-16 vs 265/75-16?

My '97 Disco I with stock 235's and a saggy suspension will soon be receiving a TerrarFirma 2" lift and new tires. Sadly, after spending way too much of my life reading way too many tire threads, I'm still unsure of what size to choose: 245/75-16 or 265/75-16? Much of the thread debate regards aesthetics with some caveats about trimming and loss of performance, and many favor the 265. The 265 does look good, has an excellent lower psi contact patch, and a little more clearance. I'm fine making the camel cut, and bump-stop adjustment, but I DO NOT want to loose much, if any, HP and Q performance. Hoping those with some experience using both these sizes on a D1 can weigh in, i.e. was that low end power/torque loss a problem if you use your D1 like me?
How I use my D1:
-it is my almost daily driver here in DC, with some of the worst high speed traffic in the nation (when not stuck in traffic)
-time off is usually on a med/hard packed beach, or on fire roads and light/med trails in the Blue Ridge
-notable amount of snow and ice driving in our winters
-gas mileage is not a overwhelming concern
Always like to see pics if you have them.
Thanks

I run 245s. no noticeable power or MPG loss. I got mine mounted before I ordered a lift (was planning on a TF 2" like you) and am very happy I did tires first. If my Disco as lifted, I would want a bigger tire to fill the wheel wells out. I'm very happy with how the truck sits, just needed a camel cut.

Gents - thanks, I see the debate continues on.
BTW - there seems to be only a few pics on the forum to compare sizes on a D1. Best set of pictures I've seen for comparison seems to be here: Reformas de Vehículos Todo Terreno - MC Ingeniería.
After visiting there and looking closely, if i went bigger agree I would go with the the 235's.
FishEh - on the road how is the acceleration with the 235's, notable decrease in power or about the same? And, with a two inch lift was any trim or bump stop adjustment necessary given they are thinner than the 265's? Just asking, still up in the air due to fear of loosing hp and Q.
