I run a 245/75. One of my biggest regrets was not going w the 235/85. Since mine is lifted I have big gaps in the wheel wells. But these tires are nice and they are brand new. So they will stay for awhile.
I used to live in Frederick Md and used to have a girlfriend at University of Maryland. I'm very familiar w DC traffic. If you are more on road go w the 245

I don't understand the "on the road more/highway" argument for smaller tires? You can go just as fast with bigger tires as you can smaller. I drive my D1 on 235's down into Chicago about an hour away fairly frequently. It cruises great on the highway. I usually keep it between 65 &75. It's Chicago so the speed limit is 55 and I still get passed like I'm standing still LOL. The truck has plenty of get up and go for me. I'm not in a race and a Disco certainly isn't a race car.
It's been my experience bigger tires create a different ride than smaller ones. I just think it gives less squishy ride and more predictable steering due to the smaller contact patch. Plus better gas milage. And mostly because why run a big tire if he's mostly on road.

So take 235 x .85= 199.75
To find the height of the tire you multiply the sidewalk by 2 since there's two when measuring diameter. 199.75 x 2= 399.5
399.5mm = 15.72" + 16" wheel diameter = 31.72" tire diameter give or take depending on brand and tread.

Good choice on the tires I have the same ones in a different size and I am loving them
I agree I ran mine around 85 for quite some time coming home last weekend and it did just fine and it didnt take long to get up there either
