Default Final drive

I posted a couple days ago about my differential going out. I picked up a complete rear axle assembly off a 96 with only 88k miles. The flange that bolts to the propshaft is 3 bolt but mine is 4 bolt. Can i remove the flange without removing the pinion gear or is it pressed onto the pinion shaft?
