Thanks guys. It came back twice now. Sorry for the false alarm. I'll shut my mouth until the codes are gone for a week next time.

The fuel pump hasn't been replaced. Ordered an Airtex E3270 off ebay for $20. Can't hurt for that price.

Shop guy says he has a scope we could use on the CkPS. Will try the pump first.

Sounds like a plan with the CkPS. I've had an Airtex installed for over three years with @50k on it, it works as advertised. Found Disco crossover info at rangerovers.net along time ago. Site is now changed from it's original format, have to dig.

If nothing else you now know how difficult it is to diagnose misfire codes......lucky you. You should be a star when folks post problems with misfires.

The way to rule out the VSS is to unplug it and then drive and see if it happens again.
Just for anyone else who is wondering.

I remember some guy who claimed to be an LR %^Tech claimed that was a bad thing to do. I do not know.

I had the issues with 1336 until I scrubbed all the ports on the intake plenum especially where the hoses from the valve covers connect. Have you tried that?

Unplugging the VSS will make your speedo not work Danny, that is about it.
It is not a permanent solution but a temp one to help diagnosis a problem.
The VSS sends the road speed to the ECU, when it sends the wrong signal the ECU thinks the truck is going to fast and kills spark to the engine.
This killing of the spark causes the misfires and sets off the MIL and misfire codes.

Eric,
Clean all the plenum intake ports really well like with a gun cleaning kit if you have not already!
