fixin some alpine rust
popping them out is easy, getting them back in is still up in the air. as for the rust, it wasn't as bad as i though it would be, I just ground it off with a flap wheel and sprayed it with rust converter and painted it. it is done, but i ran out of time cause the paint won't be dry enough to put the glass in tonight
I'm glad there weren't any holes yet but I would think if it were right on the edge where the rubber has to slide over you would have to weld them up, any where else if they were small I would try to bondo. the steel is thin and I wouldn't want to burn through it trying to weld an 1/8 inch hole or two.
to put them back in did you pull the rubber wedge strip out, and put the rubber in then the glass in the rubber then the strip back in, or the glass into the rubber then the whole thing back in the hole?
