Ok, I will be honest, I have not followed this "modification" very close.
So can someone please explain to me what springs to use and what goes where?
Suspension Components
And what years?

Coils are from FJ80 (90's land cruiser) FRONT coils. You put the FJ FRONT coils on the rear of the Disco. The FJ coils are tapered, and the disco coils are not, this means the coil perch must be flipped on the rear, and the FJ coils seat perfectly. After the rear is done you use the DISCOVERY REAR coils in the FRONT of the DISCOVERY. Hence, 2" lift rear and (theoretically) 2" front. If using on Disco II I've heard it will lift 4'' which seems plausible since many of the OME lift springs will say that they work on either but lift Disco II more. This is what I've HEARD but I personally KNOW that they lift the Disco I. Personally I think the rear sits alitttle higher, but oh well. It cost me $20!

The coils are also color coded for the wrap count.

yep the color code is the definitive ID

Here is a list of color codes from the front springs I went though today

Height/color code/wraps

21" Blue Pink White 9.25 wraps
21" Grey Orange White 9.25 wraps

20.25" Blue Yellow White 8.75 wraps-one of these is a confirmed LX450

19.5" Green Yellow White 8.25 wraps-one of these is a confirmed LX450

19.5" Purple Green White 8 wraps

19.25" Double Purple Dark Blue White 8 wraps

19" Double Pink Light Blue White 7.5 wraps

18.5" Double Pink Grey White 7.5 wraps

18 7/8" Orange Orange White 7.75 wraps

I got it from the ih8mud forum and did a lot of investigation on the yota sites. Taller spring with more wraps higher and stiffer ride. Apparently lots of different yotas had different spring heights and needed to color code them. All in all I guess it really doesn't matter since its a lift not really an upgrade per Se but if you can get a 2" lift and and get some taller tires under there its a cheap way to go.

So if that's the case looks like I got LX450 20.25" coils. If I had known all the different lengths available i'd had gone for the 19" ones. As mine sits alittle higher in back now.
