Default front brake problem

my brakes went out and had to replace the master cylinder. I replaced the cylinder and a day later my front brakes locked up. I released the pressure from the abs unit so i could drive. the weird thing is my front brakes would lock up even when im not pressing the brake. I could be driving and they'll lock up. any thoughts what it could be?

Locking most commonly is caused by air in the system...

Was the entire system bleed?

First...read this post:

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...p-42392/page2/

Then, if that has not sorted it, it could be the brake proportioning valve located under the master cylinder.

i looked at the thread but i replaced the master cylinder twice already. its not just one caliper its both. Could it be the brake booster, or does anyone know where i could find a proportioning valve besides the dealer?

The only thing that applies pressure is the master cylinder and the abs. If the abs is not pumping, then it is the master cylinder. The brake booster only boosts the force you apply to the master cylinder. If the master cylinder was installed with the linkage too long, then the master cylinder might be slightly applied and not letting the brakes release.

Your master cylinder needs adjusting.
It is set up wrong.
