fuel pump help. please!
Hello I am very new to this but here I go, I have a 98 Disco1 50th anniversary. I was trying to do a cheap fix by replacing just the pump in the fuel module. I was told the the airtex e3270 would do, but then some one said that since I have the Evaporative Type Fuel Delivery System that i need the airtex e3210, I just want to make sure that when i go buy a new pump and install it that works properly. ANY HELP is greatly appreciated!!
do you have the actual pump out yet ?? If so take it to the autoparts store and compare the two of them....the difference may only be the electrical connection, the store should have the flow specs of the pumps they offer for sale......these rovers only run about 35 psi so most pumps out there would likely work...fwiw I replaced mine a few years ago with a no name pump off ebay.....cost was about $40. good luck and let us know what you find
What you are buying is JUST the pump. There's about a dozen different pumps that will work. So long as you keep the original white plastic housing you're fine. Do a search on this and you'll probably find a detailed How-To.
Don't hold me to it but I think the pump itself doesn't matter with ael. The first thing I did on my rover was a fuel pump (had to replace it to get it home). I didn't even know what ael was. Should be OK if you keep the housing/sending unit. Search should turn up some good stuff.
That's correct. The actual pump part is the same between AEL/nonAEL and is the same as many GM makes as well.
my pump came with 2 wiring pigtails.....i got lucky....the stock connector fit the new pump fine ....
Thank you for the info.I tried to put in my fuel pump off of a 94 GMC suburban(they looked exactly same) and the truck ran rough, looked in to it and found out that the GMC pump only runs at 12 psi. and I think that the land rover has to be at least 35 psi. Does anyone know what pump would be best?
