Gear Selector Console Back Light Bulb Confusion?
#11
Picked up the backlight bulbs for the center gear selector console today from the Rover dealership and they are correct. The part number is STC881, the bulbs themselves are stamped VCH 1112 12V 0.1A on the bulb just like the originals and these were in blister paks labeled CML Innovative Technologies which I assume is the company who makes them or distributes them. They were $1.69 each which was more than reasonable. These bulbs are substantially cooler than the others but are also less bright as you could guess. Turns out the reference number in their online system was incorrect. They had to reference an old printed reference manual to find the correct part number.
Now to find the backlight for the Clock, which they claim is no longer available from Rover, but seems to be similar confusion over part numbers. This one looks even more unique. Here we go again.

Thinking out-loud
12 volt LED. No duty cycle/No heat. Solder it in, good to go. You can even choose the color.
