Default Gee Whizz! Cooling System Help Please!

Ok, Friday I left my Apt and within 5 miles the lower Radiator hose blew out ( ruptured). So I managed to find the only one in the Houston Metro area and put it on Sat. afternoon and with new clamps & coolant drove back to my apt fine. I have not driven it till this morning while on my way to church about 7 miles this time, my upper hose (BOOM!!!!!!!!) ruptures!? OK, I understand the upper hose bursting possibly due to clogged radiator but the bottom? If the radiator is clogged, it shouldn't put pressure on the bottom hose at all right? A bad T-stat will just make it overheat. Neither hose was in "bad"condition of i would have replaced them prior to the winter. Could i have just overfilled the resovour? and the expanded coolant had nowhere else to go? Help!!!! I don't have time, nor can i afford to replace that bottom hose again for at least a week. What could be the root cause?

Your hoses were old and worn out, you replaced the bad one, since they were all installed on your truck at the same time they are all the same age and thus you can expect them all to go bad around the same time.
You need to replace your heater hoses too.
Radiator hoses are like tires and brakes, you ALWAYS replaces them all at the same time.
It is a good idea to replace your radiator hoses every 10 yrs.

Unless the pressure relief cap on the overflow is broke or bypassed, the cooling system couldn't build the pressure to blow a good hose.

Sometimes with age they go from the inside out, so visually they look good. I wouldn't worry about the new ones, but might be on the remaining ones.

About a year ago, my upper hose went, then one of the heater hoses about a week later. Then I just replaced all of 'em.
