Genuine Window Motor My Ass!
there's a lot of threads about home fixes....a brass one you can buy online for like $20 , a sliding door roller you can use and that motor bike riding, x-discoing guy LRD or whatever used to sell acceptable quality replacements. I have a few. it's a pretty easy job - i did it.
slang, I think he's talking about the motor itself, as opposed to the regulator rollers. But I may be in error. If regulator, also see https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ight=regulator for a fix that is cheap and uses teflon parts easily available at home store. And proves you can put a square roller on a round slot or something....

i made some nonsense posts yesterday. but on this one i think he's referring to the window regulator fix you mention. can't get my head around a square roller tho...and yeah i read it.
Those in the P38s are square.
Yep, I made some out of square teflon furniture "glides" that fit in the track just right, have a hole in the middle, and you can make a single razor cut to allow it to snap over the the stub on the broken regulator, the track holds it top and bottom so it can't separate, has worked for past year, and as we know, it simply slides left/right as window descends or ascends. Meatier than the little plastic wheels, not as good as the brass rollers. You'ld think that a truck built for bouncing in boondocks might consider how shock is going to have an impact on those little plastic rollers. And PT is correct, it converts from a roller to a slider.
