LRD2&ME

If you go into the User CP, you add people your ignore list if they are getting on your last never. Their post should simply not show up.

That being said, I have to agree with Travelor, for the most part this forum is pretty benign........

I also agree with Spike, please tuff it out. Each of tends to bring different abilities, skills and knowledge to the party. We are all better off with each other contributing than without.

Yeah, it is nothing to get furious about. NO ONE NEEDS TO GET THAT WRAPPED AROUND THE AXLE.

Cosmo was simply trying to stay with the published documentation which is common to all of our vehicles for the "as built" configurations.

Itoo have worked with military aircraft and even space craft and defense missiles, bith at equipment, harness, and internal piece part levels. If the PCB pin numbers do not coincide with the harness connector pin numbers (as apparently they did not in this case) it would be confusing telling someone based upon an internal designation rather the standard as documented.

That said, it ain't nothing to go to war about or sell your Disco and bail out on it all.

Cosmo is a pretty good ole boy, even if he may have angered you, it was straight forward, he did offer you a free hookup to the RAVE and an explanation of how it is laid out.

If you feel that you really must go, suit yourself. Your enthuisasm and experience and talents could be well utilized if you choose to stay around.

I have been accused of Being On A High Horse as well, but my horse preferences are for me to deal with, so if I **** you off, see the appropriate link in my signature. But Do not attack my horse, he can get high if he wants to!

I have received some flak from a few, but really, it is usually their own interpretation of what I said, not what I actually said that offended them, or they were just plain ignorant one or the other...

Laugh it off..............Watch Larry the Cable Guy (That's funny, I don't give a damn who you are) or Jeff Foxworthy (You Might be a Redneck) or Bill Engvel (Here's your Sign) if you NEED help understanding what I am saying.

Some people make the mistake of taking valid comments as a personal attack instead of as valid constuctive input/criticism. If you are guilty of such and yet blame the other person for what YOU interpretted and attack them in return, then you screwed up twice in my book.

I have had quite a few people get offended and retaloate on me with downright offensive ignorant comments based on what they inerpretted rather than what I really said.

If you are that lame, then limp away. If you make a mistake, stay and share your experiences with the rest of the tribe. Be strong. Be REAL. Care and share. Grow from your ignorance and learn from mistakes, both yours and those of others.

But if You Can't Hang with the Big Dawgs, then Hide under the Porch with the Pups.

By all means realize that some people are like Hawgs, they Love to Play on the Mudd.

And remember the RedNeck Code: "That's Funny, I Don't Give A Damn Who You Are!"

Drive it Like You Stole It. If you don't like it, LEAVE.

Wait a second...is this thread for real? You are REALLY considering not only leaving the forum but stopping production and selling your Land Rover because one (faithful contributor FYI) corrected your post or debated your info? That is the WHOLE point of an open forum for technical help. If everyone left after they gave one improper diagnosis or were corrected or questioned by 1 person then we wouldn't have anyone left in the forum.

I've read through the "problem" thread and don't see any issues with Cosmo's replies. I've read MANY other replies that have been much more harsh or actual attacks at a poster...this was not one of them. I appreciate those who directly correct inproper info and don't worry about stepping on toes when doing so, because they will save people time and money.

I'm sorry, but threads in this section aren't for sob stories and they surely aren't for singling out another member and attempting to stick a "crime" on him just because you don't like the "internet interpretated tone" you gathered from his response's. This thread should be deleted and the OP should take a breath and realize that the "offender" had the same intentions as he did - trying to appropriately help the person with a problem.

And by the way, your casted rollers I bought are working perfectly and I will continue to tell people to look your way before attempting to cast their own or buying entirely new regulators. So again, thanks for doing that.

Just because someone with more Land Rover experience than you (new folks please do some post research if you need proof), called you out, you got your feelings hurt, and started a thread so people would plead for your to stay, and give you tissues to dry your tears?

Biggest problem with the internet. You cannot convey emotion in text.

I have been seriously helped by Cosmo. Talked with him on the phone even. He is a good person and I am certain he meant well. I have not read the offensive thread and do not intend to. I keep coming on here because of the wealth of knowledge in this forum. It is actually the best forum amongst LR forums to get good advice on vehicle repair. I have joined 4 other forums with LR area, LRR forums, LRonly forums, Solihull Society and Expedition portal. I rarely come across someone as knowledgeable about the D1 as on here. I share when i screw up and when I succeed at repairing my vehicle to benefit all of you. If someone disagree's with my assesment I simply accept it as their opinion. You need to let crap roll off your back.

Just cause it is the internets, yes internets, does not mean it is true.

Hey, I thought dudes could say all kinds of mean **** to each other and even have knock down fist throwing fights and then be best friends the next day? Isn't that one of the cool *** traits that separates us from women?

;-)
