Default Greetings! Just wanting some general information

Heyo I'm hoping to go see a 1998 disco LSE 50th anniversary edition this week has 150k miles, no major mechanical problems but the CEL is on tires are okay shocks are good and so forth, when I check out the CEL I'll post what it says. But what I wonder is there anything specific I should look for with these discos? I know the engine on the disco 2 head gaskets pop easily cause Of temperature and the 3 amigos on the dash. What about the disco1?

Disco 1 are prone to same head gasket issues, and underbody rust, ABS brakes act up and in my opinion are better left disconnected. Front end axle can have problems with oil leaks and bearing problems if run dry, minor problems but they can add up. Got over 203K on mine.

Thank you for replying! I'm guessing these are the most common. These bearings should I lube them every 5k miles?

The front swivel ***** on each side of the front axle should be kept filled with lubricant and should be good as long as they are full. If the seals are good and you don't have any leaking out, they should be fine. Always a good idea to check for water intrusion, or change the fluid after going through water. Just like engine oil, trans fluid, transfer case, wheel bearings, and front and rear axles. Or just stay out of the water.

Wouldn't hurt to check the wheels (front) for any side to side or in and out movement (grab the top and push in and out)
