You guys are awesome!
I first want to say that you guys are a huge source of information - I've been going through the forums for the past couple days & I'm very impressed with the amount of information everyone has put out there.
I haven't bought a Discovery yet (I'm still doing my research), but I think I've already been bit by the bug!
I'm looking at one that I really like & want ask a couple questions:
2000 Discovery II
124,000 miles
I love the look of this particular Land Rover and am getting a pretty good deal on it - That's why I'm considering purchasing it as-is.....I typically would never buy a vehicle sight unseen.
I would appreciate some feedback from you guys on this.
Thanks much!!

The lights that are on could be expensive to fix. If this thing is going to cost more than you would spend on a flat screen, think about having an indy mechanic inspect it, an hour of their time could save big $.
As far as deal, check Statewidelist - Craigslist search by state for rover, your state, and it will index all of craigslist by metro area. Will let you know what is out there.

the head gaskets that were put in will not last forever. If you plan on having a mechanic fix the 3 amigos and whatever major maitenance that should be done when purchasing a 12 year old truck it is going to be a very expensive investment for sure. If you have the time and willingness to learn these trucks are very easy to work on and a few sets of cheap tools can save you a lot of bread in the bank.
Hey, maybe you should ask the guy what he did to address the Amigos.. he selling a car and a simple fix would be lucrative for his sale.. my amigos?? turned out to be a simple voltage issue.. (cleaned grounds and replaced broken firewall ground strap).. even better.. get your hands on an OBD2 scanner, plug it in and give the boys here the codes.. they saved me HUGE $$$.. i will never purchase another used vehicle without checking for codes, or "pending codes" which i believe the sneaky bastich got me with by clearing them..
