Interesting turn of events - new battery installed by AAA under warranty couple of days earlier - young mobile tech sprayed the red battery corrosion protection on the posts before installing the clamps and then on the clamps - code reader also said low voltage which actually does not give a code - which come to find out can actually cause a 1172 code - so didn't need to throw new MAF and clean injectors and replace O2 sensors - all a shop could have done for thousands $

these are crazy rigs

Yes that is exactly what it did - caused a slight drop in voltage on the "ON" position thus causing the ECU to toss off the 1172 code - once the posts were cleaned and clamps reinstalled the service engine light went out after a few driving cycles - low voltage plays havoc with the ECU causing lots of things from check engine lights to anti-theft issues
