Hello all! My first post here wish it was a positive one. I have a 96 disco the check engine light came on yesterday and stayed on. She still runs fine nothing out of the ordanary. This is my first issue with my disco since I bought her a year ago. I have 99k on the clock if this helps. How do I read codes on disco? I hope someone can lead me in the right direction. Thanks!

 

Assuming it is a check engine light and not the service light, just go down to your local auto parts store, like auto zone, and have them plug into your OBD2 port down by your steering column. Write down all the 4 didget fault code numbers and get back to us with them, EASY.

Again my check engine light is on in my 96 discovery with 99k, and it is throwing 2 codes P1316 and P0300. If you or someone could let me know what they mean. Thanks guys i have some other issues to but I need to tackle this one first.

 

It means your engine is running like s--t and needs some good attention to correct those 2 mis-fire codes. How long since plugs and wires were installed, what octane gas are you running?
