Head gasket replacement help/advice

I've performed 31 hg jobs. Kinda get to know what I know because it becomes second nature. I'm not knocking VR or Elring, they wouldn't be in business if they had bad parts. I've just done enough of em to have a gut feeling. It was kind of odd that the FelPro's are more expensive but after seeing them I just knew somebody did their homework. I can't exactly say why other than the fire ring was proud of the gasket material and the matrix was way different, not like cement or barbecue grill cleaning brick and that makes perfect sense to me. The other three had different features that didn't make me all warm and fuzzy, like oh, oh. Man am I tired....... two long weeks of busting butt is killing me. I have a Ford BB 460 next on the job ticket, what a hobby I have......

Sorry it took so long, if you need pics of all of them or a different angle LMK.
I was cleaning this bad boy off and found this...Something went through this engine....guess I better check the head.
Ahh, by the spark plug there, washer? Who knows Noobs!
I'll have to check the valves next. Not sure if they will be sealing after that.
I think I have things cleaned up pretty well. The last pic is where it was leaking (between the cyl and water jacket).

If they will come out I'll do that.
BTW does anyone know if I can drop the oil pan without removing any drivetrain parts? I looked last night and it looked kind of tight. I'd like to clean out the bottom of the pan because this engine looked like the previous owner never changed the oil.
