headboard repair?
Examined my headboard today and was pondering on weather or not it could be repaired and thus Reinstalled in my disco. Still holds the basic shape and Still has some strength left it. However it does has several creases and dog bite marks, and the headliner is ripped off and trashed. I know where to buy a new headline for under $200 new, but its the board I'm worried about. If the headboard could be "stiffened" up and repainted and weather treated then it would be like new again. Any ideas? Anyone ever work on this type of project before?

Automotive fiberglass resin will do the trick. You do not need the fiber cloth, just the resin and catalyst. Just brush it on and place it in a dry place to cure. $200 for a headboard cloth? Jo-ann fabrics, cheap, cheap, cheap and they have all sorts of neat designs. Get creative. Headliners are too easy. Don't forget to go to the carpet store and purchase some under carpet cheapo foam cushion to tuck between your headboard and roof (great additive insulator)

Search for painting headliner threads in one I did a detailed list and how to with latex paint colormatched to the interior, look for it then ask if you have any more questions. I've gotten a few compliments on it but the biggest compliment is that none says anything cause they don't realize anything has been done.
