Question Headlight guard to quarter panel?

Hey everybody. My D1 came with headlight guards, which I like, but they seem to be missing where they attach on the outside. They only connect with 2 screws above the headlights, and a lower bar that clips onto the bumper. They clearly have screw holes next to the quarter panel, but are about 1" away. Is this a rubber bumper I'm missing? Does anyone have pictures of theirs so I can try to find or replicate a replacement?

My headlight guards mount on the front brush guard, rear ones mount to the body using rubber bumpers

They might be for a D2 possibly? D2 has a bigger body, which might explain why those go out so far.

I wouldn’t drill holes in my front quarter panels just for those. They look rough. Maybe just remove them altogether. Got a photo from straight on?

if memory serves me - I am sure they don't drill into the fender - I think there were rubber bumpers those holes were used to screw into and they were there to prevent the guard from hitting the fender

Hello,

No missing screws on your headlamps guards!
In the two holes at both outsides fit a kind of small rubber bumper ; the inward top of them all is “parked” against the metal body panel nearest the orange glass.
So you will have to unscrew both upper screws from the gard en “turn” the gard more to this mating body panel.
The two missing rubber bumpers are replaceable by other rubber material.

Kind regards,
PierroDisco
