Default Heater Blower motor/fan Disco 1

Has anyone on the forum replaced or troubleshoot an issue with the blower motor on Discovery I? How difficult is it to remove/replaced the motor?

I just did mine today. It's easier if you remove the glove box (4 screws) so that you can see what you are doing. The blower motor is held to the main blower assembly with 3 screws and one electrical connector. Not a hard job at all.

The so-called squirrel cage. Had at least one squirrel's worth of hood liner felt in it. After cleaning and re-installation it purred like a kitten.

That looks so comfortable I'd live in it.......

Once you've done it a couple of hundred times you don't even need to remove the glovebox, just lean in and go at it.

I removed the hood insulation, first thing I did when I bought mine.

Should you find that your blower motor has failed, I have a number of good used motors in stock and they're pretty cheap. Let me know if I can be of help.
Cheers,
Paul

Default removal blower motor

Sorry guys for my english. I m comming from Austria. I have to remove the blower motor from my Disco 1 200tdi. Is it really easy to remove the Part? I read the thread..I removed the case. And now? I can see the black box only. Is the motor inside? Do you have any ideas what I have to do next. Thx Alex

This should help. Although it describes the process for a DII, it should be virtually the same in a DI.
