The transmission alone is worth that much. I took mine into the dealer to have the computer flashed and the first thing he said was "wow a five speed, never had one in here before!" It's the white buffalo of Disco's in Alaska!

 

If you do end up buying it, make sure you change that 5spd trans fluid out for some Redline MTL. My 5spd shifts soooooo much smoother now that I put some of that stuff in there! You'll need at least 3qts and you can find it relatively cheap on www.amazon.com last time I checked!

I would grab it, Mutley has some tail damage but just adds to the PATINE of the vehicle.

You've never heard of the "Pink Panther"?
It is/was a pink Series/Defender for desert use, pink is harder to see in the desert than tan.
