I still say get the HD springs. The OP has plans for F & R bumpers, winch, probably skids, so on and so forth. That alone will add signifcant weight, even just going to the mall. Now load that truck up for a trip and you've got a lot more weight being put on those springs. Like to tow anything? You'll appreciate the stiffer springs when you're not dragging ***.

Going to carry tools? How about trail spares? I carry two bags of tools, a bin of small trail spares, along with F & R driveshafts, and F & R axles halfshafts.

Here I am loaded to the gills as my family of 5 heads to The Wilds Summer Safari in OH.

People rarely say "I wish I had gotten the medium duty springs". Sure the ride is a bit rough with HD springs without a load, but its a truck!

Fish, that it a great pic with the Green Disco trailering the Red Disco. Looks like you were prepared for a great time in the WILD. I fully agree with you. Once you start loading it up, those HD's come in handy.

Mine does bounce over speed bumps if I hit them too fast when empty, but it rides great and I can load it without much concern. It was sagging when I first got it, now I can practically skateboard all under it on my creeper and get to anything down there. It's a great place to hide from the wife and grandkids if I don't want to be around them.

I like the picture as well. Is the red one stock?? If so, I would tow the green bad boy, keep the miles off it.. or just enjoy it.

That pick is when I picked up the red parts truck. Got it for $400. So far I've grabbed the axles, driveshafts, wheels and tires. Given some parts to friends, too. Last weekend I pulled the starter out of it and tossed if in my green Disco. Definitely getting my moneys worth out of it.

That's why I am looking for a donor disco. I would love to have a bunch of spares! What did your donor cost? And what's wrong with it?

Got my cadaver truck for $400. It ran and would drive but struggled to get to 30mph. I never bothered trying to figure out what was wrong with it. It was destined to be my donor truck so I didn't care.
That truck has more than paid for itself.
