Default Help

I have a 97 Disco1. I have no spark. I swapped out my coil pack, and CPS on the trail. Still Nothing, and yes it is installed correctly. When I got home I tried to pull codes, and kept getting an error. Brought a Snap-On Verus from work to verify my cheep code reader was working and still nothing. This lead me to believe since I was getting power to the ECU, that it was bad. Swapped the ECU, and still the same problem. I have checked all of the fuses. Does anyone have any ideas?

This happened while on the trail?
Like after hitting a big bump?
Have you tried resetting the inertia switch on the firewall?

Does that kill spark? I thought it only affected fuel?

Swapping out the ECU will cause you more issues if you are not able to reprogram it so it will communicate with the BCU. I would put the old one back in.

It is only supposed to effect fuel but it is worth a shot right?

On the trail we were not doing anything to crazy. I shut it down to take a lunch break and it hasn't run since. I have put back in the old ECU. I have not reset the Inertia Switch. Would that prevent me from reading codes?

i had a similar issue with my 96. it ended up being that the PO had routed the 12v bypass for the spider alarm through the ABS fuses, which i was removing as recommended by a few on this forum. once i traced it out, re-installed fuses no more issues. hope this help.
