Default help

hi everyone

I just did a top overhaul on my discovery 1995 v8 engine , all went well I timed it up to Landover specs but it has no power when moving like the brakes are holding which they are not
but if I advance the timing it runs better but I cant get the revs down

Any ideas pls

humor us and go back and double check the distributor...I'm sure you know that the rotor will turn as the gears mesh thus throwing off the timing...I had a similar issue with my 95 when I first got it...the PO had removed the dist to install the amplifier relocation kit and put the dist back in ....only one tooth off....could'nt turn it to advance it far enough to run right....hey it's worth a look...and the vac advance on those IS known to go bad...but easy to check.....keep us posted
