Help! ECU loses power when rainy
Check out my thread on the DII side: long story short, I had ECU problems. After moderate scrub of connectors, I attacked all sockets on ECU with an entire can of CRC contact cleaner. The good, plastic safe stuff. After seeing one small fleck of corrosion come out of one socket, everything worked great.
It's been pretty rainy for 2 days now and I have not been stranded yet. I'm still not too sure I'd take the road with the children... I've spotted than recently I hear a relay tripping under the glovebox when the pavement is extremely corrugated (which is frequent in Quebec and other northern communist countries). This symptom might be related... I've kept on looking for harness damage and dirt in connectors but still nothing convincing... It makes me want to do a diesel conversion even more! Putting a non sealed ECU in the engine bay of an offroad vehicle is just plain dumbness, the components were better protected in every compact car I had before.
None of the sensor connectors are sealed, clean , dielectric grease them, check for loose grounds, no ground no power
Bumpy roads and clicking relays sound like loose ground or loose connection
