Default High Idle after valley pan

Hello,

I recently did a valley pan gasket on my 95 DI and now I have a high idle. I checked my vacuum hoses to make sure they were on and not sucking air (sprayed with carb cleaner and listened for different engine sound). I'm now getting a check engine light, and error code 14. I've found that error code 14 is for the coolant sensor, and I noticed that my coolant gauge now goes up to slightly below half and stops. It used to be at exactly half. (I believe I got all of the air out of the coolant system because the heater blows hot and the hoses get nice and warm evenly).

It seems that once I start it, it will idle at around 1200 RPM. Then if I step on the gas, it comes down very slowly to 1200 RPM again. I'm not sure why its doing this. I did remove the lucas sensor thats on the intake manifold when I did the valley pan gasket.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Check hoses at the IACV for cracks at joints, not having the correct vacuum at IACV will cause it to run high.
