This is probably not your issue, but I just thought of something that happened on my Disco once:

The way the intake and idle stop are designed, items can fall into and become trapped in the cable region of the throttle lever. Therefore the throttle won't quite return to it's true 'stop' position. I had a rodent of some sort I assume deposit acorn pieces atop my rig's intake, and a piece had blown down into the 'hole' around the throttle cable as I drove ...and got lodged under the idle stop. Wasn't a whole acorn, but a piece of acorn. It elevated the idle as well. I went through some head-scratching till I spotted it by chance. It was around this time of yr when animals are packing away food. But, a tiny rock or piece of dry mud could probably do the same thing. Probably not your issue, but literally takes no time to inspect.

 

Update

Thanks for everyone’s input I fixed the issue. After everything that I’ve done, somewhere I had fixed it which reflected when I reset the adaptive values. I was able to reset myself with the “GEMS” reader android app and an OBD2 link reader. anyone has any questions let me know. Thanks again!!
