Without starting the engine try this three times; unplug IACV, turn ign to pos II, hold it for a few seconds and then turn off, plug IACV back in, turn ign to pos II, hold it for a few seconds and then turn off. Allow time in between for the IACV's pintle to reseat, you'll hear it. These aren't really self learning ECU's, they need to be reset but in the mean time you might get the ECU to find the position of the pintle and hold it. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

You'll need to have the ECU variables reset. That's why it won't keep the same position - rpm. When and if you do reset start with a new IACV otherwise you'll most likely be revisiting the shop that does the reset......

untill you can get the ecu reset, do whatever it takes to get it to idle where you want it to and then unplug the iacv with the engine running. you can "fine tune" the idle speed from there by adjusting the throttle cable tension with the plastic nut on the cable.....on a cold start , you may need to step o the throttle just a little till it warms up a bit.....mine's been this way for about a year now.....

I took off the IACV and the gasket broke.. Are these easy to find or what? Still has high idle. Waiting till after thanksgiving to try and go to the dealership unless I find a rover shop. Anyone know if Paul grant can reset ECM's, and how much he charges?

You can make one, manila envelope double, tripled. You want to match the thickness of the original thickness, it's the distance between the pintle and seat that needs to remain the same. Don't know if Paul can, email him.

I'm still trying to figure out what caused the high idle.. If i remember correctly it might of happened when I replaced the fuel pump. Has anyone else replaced theirs and had the same results?
