highway tires for a '97 D1
OK, I'll admit it. My truck leads a VERY soft life. I basically haul the kids to & from practices and games with the occasional trip to my parents. Almost exclusively highway driving.
I currently have General Grabber HTS 235/70R16 which have been fine but are getting to the end of their life.
While highway comfort is primary, foul weather is a strong secondary consideration because travelling cannot be interrupted when it is pouring out or there is light/medium snow on the ground.
What experiences, expertise, or suggestions do you guys have?

Nokian Tyres... They are made/designed in Finland... they have some pretty crappy weather... rain, snow, slush, sleet, etc.
I got on to them several years ago for my car at the time, and their All-Weather tires made a huge difference in snow and ice... ran them all year round and they lasted 3+ years with amazing grip in the winter time. Hydroplaning is non existent! These aren't a winter tire... they are better than anything I have seen, and anyone I have turned on to them doesn't look back.
Great on road tires, as well as good light off road.
I am getting rid of my BFG T/A KO tires as the 10 ply is too rough for smooth highway cruising, and also the tread began to lose grip in the rain and snow within a year of having them and not doing very much off road trails.
My $0.02
Best of luck!

I agree . I live in summit county co and I put nokian studded tires on my wife's car and they are incredible. I have had Goodyear and hancook snow tires and they don't even compare. Take my advice spend the extra money and get these tires.
Dunlop Grantrek AT20. I have a set of 245's on my truck, my son recommended them. Quiet and smooth like buddah. Great highway tire! They've been fine in wet and haven't had em long enough for snow, I probably won't either.
