THAT IS COOL. Wonder where those parts came from?
I was looking really close today as I degreased the whole bottom of the motor and cleaned really well everywhere. It looks like redoing the intake air box into a snorkel would not be too hard and vastly lower input air temp. Wonder what that would do to the ECM?

Not much, as the IAT updates it faster than an ex-wife can call her attorney. The IAT and the MAF values are part of the "weight of air vs. weight of fuel" calculations. It will adapt to maintain the stochiometric ratio. So adding a snorkle won't give you 10 mpg more or faster quarter mile times. But you may be able to do 0-60 in 3.8... gallons. Now if you were on the Autobahn at 130 mph plus, sure, might have some benefits. On stop and go traffic at 45 mph - not so much.

I agree with Eric, the one in my DI was so full of dust, I ripped it out right away and just cleaned everything up real good. If you put reflective material under the hood, won't it just keep heat in worse?
It would be cool to have some sweet built in scoops like the 1966 Chevelle SS had.
Or even a vent you could pop up with a linkage from inside like some of the real early vehicles had, if you are old enough to have seen those.
