$1,200
Pretty clean 98 (the sticker says 08/97), some rear wheel rust, high miles, pissing out ps fluid and brake fluid. I drove it home with dangerous brakes and no power steering. Had the hood open ever since it seems. We put some Cooper ATS tires on it not too long ago. They were awesome in the snow. It feels like a pretty safe ride even without ABS, the lady love it (even though something is always breaking) and it came with the ARB on the front no big complaints. One day it'll have a rebuilt 4.6 in it and I swear, one day, all the windows will work!

Default a lot more

I paid 27K in 2004 for my 04 with 10k miles on it. It would have been sweet to get it for 3500 though.

woops...just saw that I posted this in the disco 1 section. my bad.

2001 Discovery II SE7 with 187,000 miles. paid $2500

Good:
body in great shape
interior in good shape
all electronics work, no lights
Seems as if it was previously owned at some point by a LR guy. Has the air suspension swapped out for coils, and the front driveshaft had been rebuilt at some point
Headliner sagging a little

Bad:
Had to rebuild the front driveshaft
Must be a late 2001 because no CDL on TC
Power steering pump is whining pretty good
Small crack in front bumper
needs tires

I just bought it a week ago tomorrow. so far I rebuilt the front driveshaft. I guess I am going to try a power steering flush tomorrow to see if that quiets the pump a little. i also changed all of the gear lube front to back. that got to be somewhat $$ with good synthetic gear oil.

Trick question. Payed 400 for the truck originally. Shot tires, bad fuel pump, and had been sitting. Payed much much much more since!

Default i'm either crazy or i love this d1

$300 for a 95 five speed 174,500 miles ,(I out bid the scrap man)

floors rusted out - differed maintenance every where-starter broke while working to get it inspected -exhaust leaks- oil leaks stopped after oil change-abs acts dangerously crazy-air bag light on-all kinds of jerry rigged wiring - stupid wind shield defroster/heater blower wont work-stereo dosen't turn on- broken door handle - E brake drags (probably fouled with leaked engine oil)-unidentified clunks in rear over bumps- front dif is sloppy (worn gears ?)-blown radiator hoses-dead battery-bad starter cable-cruise control not working-vaccuum advance shot
and that's not even the cosmetics

good brakes good tires good alignment and i think i like it

I paid 3k for the 97 SD in 05 with 68k on the clock. Currently 217k on the clock and counting. Picked up a 98LE (98k and leaking timing cover gasket) two weeks ago for $800. Also got a super cherry 95 P38 for the wife for 5K, and a load of extras. Then went today and looked at a 58 107. It just might be the next addition.

Great buy. just the tire and the bumper are worth what you paid and they tossed in the truck for free....
