I keep planning on doing my headgaskets but each week the funding isn't there.
Is there anything I can do cheaply to know if the head gasket is an issue. I know it happens of every one of them. Mine has 100k on it and im sure it has never been done.
Only issues I am having..
1. I loose VERY little coolant. Probably 1-2 cups a month. [Heater core disconnected]
2. Im running SLIGHTLY hot.. 206* Isn't strange, and in VERY hot weather and in traffic [with no condesor fans] I was running 218.
I really want to do the headgaskets just to get them done. Now is a better time than ever because I have the time, just dont have the money.
So is there anything I can do "cheaply"? If its not a headgasket how do I track down the leak?
Oh.. sometimes I believe the rear passenger bolts on the engine are slightly wet.

You can't tell where the coolant is going?
It's either leaking, you should see that. either in the oil or on the engine
Or its burning, which you may find by finding one or two of the spark plugs look cleaner than the others.
You may also do a compression test (warm) and look for any cyl that is odd (tho' that could be rings or valves)
And lastly, tear 'er down, you'll know, and probably never do it again on that engine.
luck,greg
